AAHPS encompasses the history of Ashland, Gordon, Locust Dale, Lavelle, Fountain Springs, and the surrounding areas. We are dedicated to preserving local history through our museum and genealogy library at 316-318 Centre St. Ashland. We also offer programs on different topics presented by knowledgeable guest speakers. These programs are held on the 4th Wednesday of each month (except November & December) at 7:00 p.m. and are open to the public with free admission.
Our membership fee is only $10.00 per year and open to all. It is only through the generosity of our members and those with a deep love and commitment to preserving our local history that we are able to keep our history alive for future generations.
Our Mission
Through an active historical society, our mission is to maintain a museum to house:
A GALLERY to showcase area historical artifacts and memorabilia.
A GENEALOGICAL LIBRARY to research and register local family heritage.
A PUBLIC MEETING ROOM to conduct meetings and enjoy guest speakers.
We believe that preserving our local historic buildings and heritage is enjoyable, worthwhile, and in fact, vital to the future of our community.
